What We Believe

About the Bible

The bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is the authority for salvation and daily Christian living, and is true in all that it teaches.

(2 Timothy 3:15-17)

About God and Jesus

There is only one God. He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living things. He has revealed Himself as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit). Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man, and to see Jesus, is to see God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4; John 4:19; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16)

About Sin and Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith, based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

(Romans 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:8-9)

About the Gospel

The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We express our belief in the gospel through our obedience to the Word of God.

(2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4)

About Repentance, Baptism, and the Holy Ghost

Repentance is a change of heart, a turning away from sin (death to sin). Baptism is by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our sins (burial). The Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) is a gift that is received, and is available to every believer (Resurrection). This constitutes the new birth experience, and is consistent with the early church.

(1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17; Mark 1:15; Acts 15:7; Romans 6:3-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; 8:9-17; 10:1-48; 19:1-7)

About Christian Living

As Christians, we are to share the gospel, love God, and love people. We should worship God joyfully, and seek to live a life that is pleasing to him both inwardly and outwardly (thoughts, words, actions). We are empowered to live a life pleasing to God through the Holy Spirit. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today.

(Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:28-31; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Romans 8:13-14; Galatians 5:19-26; Hebrews 12:14)

About the Future

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. Those who believe and have obeyed His word will inherit eternal life.

(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Rev 20:11-15)
